Privacy Notice

Updated 6 November 2026 · Minecraft server, resource-pack downloads and connected server services

Controller: Timon Holly, operator of ApexFFA
Privacy contact: apexffa.contact@proton.me

This notice explains how personal data is used when you connect to the ApexFFA Minecraft server and use its connected features. The operator decides how server data is used. Discord itself and services provided by other operators also have their own privacy notices.

What the server processes

Why this information is used

The server uses this data to maintain player progress, deliver requested features, connect accounts, operate community chat, investigate technical problems, prevent cheating and abuse, enforce rules and handle support or privacy requests.

Where the GDPR applies, necessary community operation and security processing relies on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f): running a working multiplayer service and protecting players. Processing needed to answer statutory privacy requests relies on Article 6(1)(c). If a separate use requires consent, it must be explained separately. Downloading the resource pack is not blanket consent to unrelated data use.

Who can receive it

Other players can see information exposed by gameplay features, such as usernames, chat, team membership and leaderboard statistics. Authorised staff can access data needed for administration and moderation. Public Minecraft chat and server messages may be relayed to the connected Discord server; messages sent through the bridge can therefore reach that channel's members.

The hosting provider, GameServerHosting, processes server files, network data and backups as part of hosting. This public notice is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare; those providers handle request information needed to serve the page, such as IP addresses and technical connection metadata. Microsoft/Mojang services handle Minecraft account services. Discord processes data used through its platform and integrations. Emails sent to the contact above are handled through Proton Mail.

External providers may process data outside the EEA. Their applicable transfer arrangements depend on the provider and service. Their notices describe their processing: Microsoft, Discord and Proton, OpenAI and Cloudflare. Contact the controller for information about a particular server-related disclosure.

How long data is kept

Gameplay records are retained while needed to preserve progress and provide the associated features. Logs and moderation evidence may be retained while needed to diagnose incidents, prevent recurring abuse, enforce an active sanction or resolve a dispute. Support correspondence is retained while needed to deal with the request and related obligations.

There is currently no single automatic deletion deadline across every server plugin. Retention depends on the record's purpose and continuing necessity. Existing backups can contain older records until those backups are removed or rotated. You can ask the controller about a specific record or request deletion; data that is still required for a valid legal or security purpose may need to be retained.

Voice chat, recordings and clips

Simple Voice Chat transmits your voice to the players who can hear you when you use it. Other players may be using recording or streaming software.

A voice-moderation integration is installed and can buffer short audio segments for abuse checks. External speech-to-text credentials are not currently configured. Enabling external transcription would require updated information about the provider, purpose and applicable legal basis before use.

Recording is not a blanket permission. Tell affected players before recording. Obtain any permission required by applicable law before recording, publishing or sharing their voices. Using voice chat does not, by itself, waive privacy or personality rights. The person recording or publishing a clip remains responsible for using it lawfully.

Security checks and your choices

Anti-cheat and security plugins can flag behaviour, prevent actions or disconnect a player. If you think a decision is wrong, contact staff for a review. Connecting requires the technical data needed for the server to function. The Apex resource pack is required to play; you may decline it and disconnect. Optional features such as voice chat and Discord account linking can be left unused.

Your rights

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it for the future. Contact apexffa.contact@proton.me; the controller may need proportionate proof that the request relates to your account.

You can also complain to a competent data-protection authority, for example the Austrian Data Protection Authority, or the authority where you live or work. These rights can be subject to legal conditions.

This page and pack downloads

Your IP address is technically necessary to deliver the page and resource pack. The page content does not embed external assets or add advertising or analytics scripts. The hosting platform may process technical request data under its own privacy terms. Following an external link or sending an email takes you to the corresponding provider's services.
